Policies for Recess

Students will:

  • immediately roll back balls that come into their area.
  • take the play over or play "rock-paper-scissors" to settle the issue, if there is a question about play.
  • use balls for blacktop use appropriately -- they should never be kicked.
  • "freeze" when the bell rings.
  • walk quickly to their class meeting place when the bell rings.
  • let an adult know if a ball goes over the fence.
  • remain on the playground during recess.
  • use good manners -- no name-calling, fighting, play fighting, kicking, using inappropriate language or bullying.
  • use the restroom and get a drink of water before the bell rings.
  • play games using school rules.
  • play in designated areas as assigned.
