Drop-Off Times
- Please plan to arrive to drop your learner off at Grant TK-8 between 7:45 am and 7:55 am. Learning begins at 8:00 am. Learners entering after 8:00 am will be considered tardy.
Tardies/Lates
-
Terri Anderson ([email protected]) is Grant's Attendance clerk. Please see Grant's attendance portion of our website for more information.
-
Learners that arrive later than 8:00 am should report to the main office.
Traffic
- Please do not park in the upper and lower drop-off/loading areas in front of the school.
- Drivers should not exit their cars. We have added supervision in both of these areas so that there should be assistance to help your learners exit your car. We will open your car doors, help pull backpacks out (they're so much easier--and quicker--to put on when learners are standing outside of the car!) and also assist with unlatching car seats so that you never have to exit your car. This will assist with our traffic flow.
- We know it's tough to send young learners off for the day, and we also recognize that it's important to start the day with a hug and a kiss goodbye. If you must use the traffic drop off zone, we kindly ask that you please build these into your routines that take place before drop off.
Kinder Gates
- Please refrain from driving your vehicle into the lower parking lot and waiting for the kindergarten teachers. Staff arrives for parking until 7:40 am, and we lock our lower parking lot gates at 7:41 am. Arrival and supervision begin at 7:45. (Thus, if you wait in the lower lot, your car could be locked inside the lower parking lot gate.)
- The pedestrian gate at the Chatio opens at 7:45 am. Please continue to use the sidewalks and avoid walking down the center of the parking lot as occasionally, a staff member will still need to park there during arrival/dismissal.
What if we are parents or guardians of a Kinder/TK learner and we absolutely can not use the pedestrian gate for drop off in the morning?
- It is best that Kinder/TK families walk their learners to the Kinder/TK gates in the morning. However, we recognize that this is not always possible. Starting Tuesday, 9/7/21 we ask that TK/K families who are absolutely not able to use the pedestrian gate for drop-off use the lower drop off area (closer to the Harris/Spingola gate) for drop-off.
- We have added supervision in this are so that there should be assistance to help your TK/Kinder learner exit your car. We will open your car doors, help pull backpacks out (they're so much easier--and quicker--to put on when learners are standing outside of the car!) and also assist with unlatching car seats so that you never have to exit your car. This will assist with our traffic flow.
- Additionally (at the Harris/Spingola Gate only) we have recently added a staff member who will be able to walk your TK/Kinder learner over (through the inside of campus) to the Kinder waiting area. We do not have the staff available to do this for all TK/Kinder learners, so we ask families to please refrain from abusing this resource.
- We know it's tough to send young learners off for the day, and we also recognize that it's important to start the day with a hug and a kiss goodbye. If you must use the traffic drop off zone, we kindly ask that you please build these into your routines that take place before drop off.
- Please note that for safety and security reasons, this added resource will not be available in the afternoons; please plan your pick up plans accordingly so that you are able to walk to the TK/Kinder gates.
Learners with Special Needs
- We ask that families of mod/severe learners who are not able to independently walk to their classrooms please use the upper parking lot area to drop off your learners.
- The above also applies to our learners who are in wheelchairs or who may require the use of crutches.
- Whenever possible, we ask that these families stay in the vehicle. Staff should be available to offer your learners assistance in exiting the vehicle and entering the school.
