Safe Spaces

The Safe Spaces committee is a group aimed at creating safe spaces for students at school and beyond. Together with the Grant community, Safe Spaces has rolled out many projects that have had a positive impact on Grant, such as:

  • Talk Boxes. Tell us more! Talk Boxes are a program at Grant allowing anonymous, faster, and more direct lines of communication between students, faculty, parents and the community. Have your student check out a Talk Box in their classroom today!
  • Uplifting mural. Safe Spaces volunteer, Anna Arnsten, created a new mural to celebrate our Grant values of respect and inclusion. Positive affirmations were suggested and selected by middle school students. Swing by the hallway in the main building, just outside the middle school PE room, to see this beautiful addition to our school.

  • Buddy program. Safe Spaces connects new students and families with current Grant community members. If you are interested in the program, click here.
  • Screenagers. An informative screening of ta film that probes into the vulnerable corners of family life and depicts messy struggles over social media, video games, and academics. The film offers solutions on how we can help our kids navigate the digital world.
  • Connecting to experts to talk about internet safety. Check out the slide deck from the district internet safety lecture for parents.
  • A place for safe! Our middle school rolled out USvsHate curricula across the school, teaching tolerance, respect, and empathy to all students. Feel the ❤️!
