When Does the Grading Period End?
The school year is divided into two semesters - Fall Semester and Spring Semester. In middle school each semester is divided into three grading periods which each last six weeks. Please note that each six-week grading period is not a "re-start" of your child's grade, but rather a continuation of and addition to the grades from the previous grading period.
When Will I See How My Child Is Doing in Each Class?
Progress reports are issued at the six-week and twelve-week marks of each semester. Progress reports are distributed through Advisory class and students are expected to hand carry the progress reports home. Report cards are mailed home in February and June -- at the end of each semester.
It Has Been Months and I Haven't Received Anything about My Child's Grades. What Should I Do?
Contact the counseling office. Counselor, Ms. Sherri Penaloza, can print replacement copies of missing progress reports
If you would like to keep a closer eye on your child's grades, San Diego Unified School District offers the use of PowerSchool, a web-based tool that allows you to check your child's grades in every class at any time. We encourage to set up a username and password as soon as possible and monitor your child's grades regularly.
